For those who have recently entered our lives, either for the first time, or again, here is the how it
all began...
Chapter 1
December, 2001 in Los Angeles, California is where it all began. We met through a mutual friend
and we both needed a new roommate. Although it seemed crazy, Jason moved into Ruth's
apartment. This was a good situation for both; Ruth had a crush on Jason and Jason liked to pay a
lower rent and eat Ruth's awesome cooking.
Over the first 2 months of being roommates, Ruth and Jason got a chance to get to know each other
and when Valentine's Day came along, Jason decided to ask Ruth out for dinner and a movie. Just to
torture Ruth a little more, Jason made her go to a JDate event with a friend the day before. Nice
guy.
The next night was good Indian food and a bad movie and at the end of it, Jason walked Ruth to her
room (across the hall) and went to his own. The dating went on for five months, while living in the
same apartment. Ruth left for Israel in June. Talks of getting engaged were in the air upon her
return, but it was only supposed to happen in late August, after Jason meets the parents. Jason could
not wait and on July 16th, 2002, we went to the Huntington Botanical Gardens in Pasadena. It was
absolutely beautiful and Jason totally took Ruth by surprise when he got down on one knee in the
Jungle Garden and popped the question. Ruth's answer was "are you serious?!" Well, he was serious
and after a 13 month engagement, we got married aboard the FantaSea One Yacht. After the
wedding, we honeymooned in Hawaii on Kauai and the Big Island.
The next three months were crazy. Jason got an academic advising position with the UWM School of
Education, we packed all of our stuff, bought a house we never saw, said goodbye to all of our
friends, got a cage for the cats, and moved to Mequon, WI.
Now we are now settled in and happy living in Wisconsin. We have fixed up the house and now
have Leah, our new addition to the family. Life is good.
